Since writing that post I've had a lot more exposure to the breadth and depth of research techniques and budgets available and I've seen just how important true deep research can be.<br><br>I'm not sure how far the over-simplified UX practices put forth by some self-proclaimed experts (summarized in my post as good color pallets). Due to the frequency with which I encounter such folks I have to assume they're doing decently well, though like I said I perceive their presence to be a bigger reflection on the state of the industry (something on the rise, to be emulated and pursued) than any malice on their part.
